Delete your CarFai account

Option 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)

1. Open the CarFai app and sign in.
2. Go to Settings → Privacy → Delete account.
3. Confirm the action. Deletion happens immediately.

If you can still access the app, this is the fastest option — the deletion is automated and confirmed on screen.

What gets deleted

• Your account profile (email, name, phone, language and currency preferences).
• Every vehicle profile, document scan, OBD2 reading, AI Advisor chat history, and spending record attached to your account.
• Uploaded photos, PDFs, and signed-URL access tokens for any documents you scanned.
• All consent ledger entries (analytics, crash reporting, share-usage flags).
• Active subscriptions on CarFai's side. (Cancel the underlying Apple Pay / Google Play subscription separately if you want to avoid the next renewal — Apple and Google control that directly.)

What we keep — and why

A small set of records survives deletion because law requires us to keep them. We do not use them for any purpose except meeting legal obligations.

• Purchase receipts and tax records — kept for 7 years per Canadian tax law (and equivalent EU / US requirements).
• Hashed records of deletion requests (timestamp + region) — proof of compliance under GDPR Art. 17 / Law 25 s.28.
• Anonymous, aggregate analytics that cannot be re-linked to you (e.g. monthly active-user counts).

We don't retain your raw documents, photos, vehicle data, or AI chat history after deletion completes.

When deletion completes

In-app deletion is immediate. Email requests are processed within 7 business days and final deletion completes within 30 days (some legal-compliance copies in our backups expire on a rolling 30-day cycle, after which the data is unrecoverable).
